Neckties History

Over the ages, much has been written and more has transpired over the necktie.  We have done some research and have assembled a unique list of references that make interesting reading.

While the Triangle Shirt factory never made neckties, they were indeed made by clothing workers, and knowing a little about the history of those who have made clothing somehow makes one appreciate these beautiful accessories that we value today.

On March 25, 1911 at around 4:35 p.m. a fire erupted and when the fire was finally contained, 146 workers perished - some from not being able to escape from behind locked doors, and others from jumping from the 8th, 9th or 10th floors.  Today the building is owned by New York University and utilized as classrooms.
